Picasso is famous for having ripped off African art, most art collectors know this but it doesn't keep him from being considered a genius and African art, simply primitive.Fly Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18191335990973494972noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2473573478104467483.post-39724556675167529762008-12-17T04:11:00.000-08:002008-12-17T04:11:00.000-08:00Stunner, I haven't been on the north coast in a wh...Stunner, I haven't been on the north coast in a while, or I would certainly have posted some pictures of carvings that are a feature of the craft stalls. I'm always tickled to death by the much exaggerated male equipment on display. There seems to be real a demand for them (aside from Stella after she'd got her groove back). I was watching a show on TV last week where Harvard University Professor Henry Louis Gates & Princeton Professor Cornell West were both commenting on how African Art influenced Pablo Picasso's work from 1907 to 1909. This is an interesting topic you're exploring.Daisy Soap Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15422975436369155824noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2473573478104467483.post-85179829558882292422008-12-14T19:50:00.000-08:002008-12-14T19:50:00.000-08:00Yes we definitely have similarities where carvings...Yes we definitely have similarities where carvings are concerned.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10349121245969250053noreply@blogger.com
